Immigration Lawyer (Client-Focused | Growth-Minded | Strategic Thinker)

📍 Remote | 🕒 Full-time | 📅 Flexible Start Date

About Sobirovs Law Firm

We’re a boutique business immigration law firm that helps businesspeople, entrepreneurs, and families build successful lives in Canada. Our work is complex, fast-moving, and deeply personal, and we do it with care, precision, and purpose.

We’re now looking for an immigration lawyer who can step into a key role on our team: managing files, drafting strategic applications, and becoming a trusted advisor to our clients. This is not just a drafting role — it’s for someone who wants to grow, lead, and make a real difference.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and review application packages for work permits, LMIA, C11, C10, Start-Up Visa, PNPs, and other business/employer-driven streams.
  • Draft clear, persuasive legal submissions tailored to each client’s story.
  • Communicate with clients, explain strategies in plain English, and support them with empathy.
  • Manage files from intake to submission with support from our team.
  • Spot legal and procedural risks and proactively propose solutions.
  • Help improve systems, templates, and the overall client experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Canadian immigration law (especially business or economic streams).
  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Clear communicator who speaks and writes with warmth and clarity.
  • Proactive and reliable — you take ownership and don’t wait to be told what to do.
  • Client-focused mindset — you care deeply about helping people succeed.
  • Growth-oriented — you’re always looking to improve and learn.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with remote work tools or practice management systems.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Clients trust you and feel supported.
  • Files are accurate, persuasive, and handled with care.
  • You ask great questions, contribute to the team, and own your growth.
  • You make life easier for others and help us all raise the bar.

What to Expect in the Recruitment Process

We want people who bring thoughtfulness, integrity, and initiative to their work.

Here’s how we’ll find them:

Stage 1: Resume & Short Video

Please submit:

  • Your resume
  • A short video answering:
    1. Why are you interested in this role?
    2. What are your salary expectations?

Important: Generic applications or lazy answers will be rejected. We’re looking for people who take this seriously.

Stage 2: Paid Skill Assessment

Selected applicants will receive a series of assignments to complete in 1–2 days. This helps us assess your skills in a real-world context. Paid at $25/hr for 8 hours.

Stage 3: Formal Interview (In-Person)

If your work is strong, we’ll invite you to meet our team for a 1–1.5 hour interview. We’ll explore how you think, solve problems, and interact with others.

Stage 4: Reference Check

We ask for 4 reference letters from former supervisors, mentors, or colleagues who can speak to your legal skill, integrity, and work ethic.

Stage 5: Trial File Work (Contractor)

You’ll join as an independent contractor and handle at least 5 files from start to finish under supervision.

📌 This is a mutual trial to ensure it’s a good fit on both sides.

Stage 6: Employment Offer

If all goes well, we’ll make you a formal offer and welcome you as a core member of our team. Long-term growth opportunities are included.

A Note from Us

We know this opportunity might look and feel intimidating. That’s okay. If you care deeply, think critically, and want to grow — trust yourself and give it a shot.

Here’s what we do guarantee:

  • You’ll grow in ways you never imagined — professionally and personally
  • You’ll join a kind, driven team that supports each other
  • You’ll never be bored — the work is meaningful and always evolving
  • You’ll get flexibility, fair compensation, and the freedom to share ideas
  • No one has ever left this team saying it was a waste of time. Everyone leaves sharper, stronger, and prouder.

So, give it a try. We’re excited to hear your story, and we look forward to welcoming you to our team. 🤍
