Communications Associate
Rachel is the Communications Associate for Sobirovs Law Firm. Rachel studied Ethics, Society, and Law at the University of Toronto, and additionally conducted research at the University of Western Australia as a Queen Elizabeth Scholar. A dual American-Canadian citizen by birth, Rachel began with Sobirovs in 2022 and is excited to now be handling all the Firm’s Intake processes!
Rachel comes from land and water described in Treaty 3, 381, and Cession 118; land traditionally and perpetually stewarded by the Mississauga, Attawonderon, Muscogee, and Pensacola peoples. Rachel is not an immigrant to Turtle Island herself, but immigration, place-making, movement, and mobility are long-time passions of hers. Rachel’s previous work experience in the area began at the Mosaic Institute, an organization dedicated to supporting diaspora communities and dismantling prejudice and oppression through community-based projects, dialogue, research, policy changes, and more. She is grateful for the opportunity to bring this knowledge into her new role at Sobirovs, and leverage her skills and training into positive outcomes for her clients.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys getting active in her community and out in nature. She loves hiking, cooking, dancing, and reading. In her downtime, Rachel also enjoys creating multimedia pieces as a textile, fibre, and paper artist.
Rachel is grateful for the opportunity to assist foreign entrepreneurs, visionaries, and businesspeople to achieve their goals.
