We are looking for 2 Immigration Caseworkers to join Sobirovs Law Firm’s team.

*Important: This position is more than just processing immigration files and responding to clients’ emails. What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Identify the needs of our clients and support them in their immigration journey by simplifying and improving the application process and delivering a hassle-free experience.
  • Use the firm’s client management software to keep client matters & initiatives moving forward and on time.
  • Create or help to capture the firm’s systems and processes to improve the team’s efficiency
  • Process clients’ applications, including, collecting documents, organizing documents, completing immigration forms, and drafting supporting documents.
  • Support immigration lawyers in their daily work.
  • Learning the firm’s service delivery standards and brand promise and being responsible for delivering amazing client experience and results.

What does success look like in this role?

  • Responding to client questions within 24 business hours.
  • Owning and improving a seamless client experience.
  • Learning all of our programs, lessons, strategies, policies, and decision-making processes so you can give expert feedback and support.
  • Consistently receiving 5-star reviews and appreciation notes from clients.

Job Requirements:

  1. You have experience in Canadian immigration law. Most of your time will be spent completing application forms, reviewing clients’ documents, and drafting legal letters. You need to be able to think critically and strategically about the clients’ situations as well as be an engaging writer and communicator.
  2. You are the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. Every day, you will bang out a list of stuff. Fun stuff. Important stuff. Necessary stuff. Do you love lists and checking things off diligently? That’s great, we love people like you!
  3. You love nailing down the details. You do not need to race through work and get things done just to check them off your list. We need you to have an eye for the details and be able to get your work done right. In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that when you apply for this position you must use the secret subject line for your application – it must include “I found my new team”. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the candidates who are truly interested in this position.
  4. You are good with people. Part of this role will be emailing and communicating with clients and the team. So, you need to enjoy talking with people and giving/getting direction and be able to do it with love and empathy…even if you are having a difficult day.
  5. You love taking the lead on your own projects. You love having full ownership over the execution, and results of your own files. You are constantly seeking to improve your projects asking yourself things like “What’s working?”, “What’s not working?”, “How can I improve this?”, “How can I make this better?”, “Did I see the results I was hoping for?”, “What are other people doing in the industry?” etc. to achieve desired outcomes for our clients.

We don’t expect perfection from you to qualify for this job. Tools are teachable, details are learnable, but we do expect you to have a solid understanding of how to prepare an immigration application and a keen interest in business immigration. We also expect intelligence, energy, organization, resourcefulness and a get it done attitude.

  • The rate for this role will be $50,000 to start, with room to grow as you grow and add more value to the company and our clients.
  • This is a full-time job, 40 hours a week.
  • We have a hybrid model workplace, so you can work from wherever is most comfortable for 4 days a week but come to the office once a week to see your colleagues, receive training or participate in collaboration sessions.
